Dyslexia Screener

Discover why your child finds reading or spelling difficult and how you can help them.

Dyslexia is primarily a set of processing difficulties that affect the acquisition of reading and spelling.

The Dyslexia Screener tests for the key indicators of dyslexia. It is quick, easy to use, and can be done at school or at home.

At the end of the test you will be emailed a comprehensive report outlining the child's weaknesses and how you can help.

Suitable for children aged 6 - 12, it can be administered by teachers or parents. The screener takes 15 - 20 minutes and can be played on any PC, laptop, or tablet with sound.

Please be aware this is not a formal Dyslexia Assessment which must be carried out by a certified assessor.

Clear Report

Our dyslexia screener produces a clear, easy to understand report.

It also contains lots of practical suggestions you can use to help your child.

Phonological Awareness

Most people with dyslexia have difficulty hearing the individual sounds in words.

They may have trouble with rhymes, or with hearing that 'goat' contains 3 sounds.

This problem is the key indicator of dyslexia.

Eye Control

To read easily you need to be able to track across the page.

If you have difficulty with eye control, your eyes wobble when you read causing you to reverse letters and skip lines and words.

Processing Speed

Processing Speed refers to how quickly your brain works.

People with dyslexia often have slow processing, which mean they need a lot of time to take in, make sense of, and respond to information.

Working Memory

Working Memory is how much information you can hold in your brain at once.

People with dyslexia often have a poor working memory, which makes it easy for them to feel overwhelmed.

Auditory Discrimination

Some people have distorted hearing which makes it hard for them to hear the difference between some sounds.

For example, they may not be able to tell if you're saying bet or vet.
